I saw everyone doing End-of-the-Year things and decided to do a bit of a year in review for myself! First, we have some brief statistics about my reading, and then I gave “awards” to some books! Reviews are linked in the titles. Tomorrow, I’ll be doing a follow-up to my Quarterly Goals (just so you know I haven’t forgotten!).

Have you read any of mine? Would you agree with their awards?

I really appreciated being able to see King’s journey through and advice on writing. It was fascinating to read!

Of course I’m not mad ❤ I do hope you enjoy them if you get to them, though! I know a lot of people weren't a huge fan of Magonia because of the weirdness, but I just adored it.

I definitely plan on reading A Darker Shade of Magic sometime soon, but I want to get to The Archived first because I already have it on my shelf xD

Fingers crossed! And again in the hopes that it’s as wonderful as her other writing!

Perfume is a criminally underread book. I adore it. Have you ever read The Wasp Factory? For some reason I associate the two, probably just because I read them around the same time in my life.

I’m not familiar with The Wasp Factory, no. Why did you enjoy it? 😀

Yesssss. It’s by Iain Banks (the guy who did all the Culture sci-fi books as Iain M. Banks–huge difference 🙂 ) and it’s just a horrifically creepy account of a 16 year old Scottish sociopath. It’s one of those terrifying books that scares you because you can imagine the bad guy being real.

Oh that sounds wonderful! I’ll have to check it out–I can definitely see why you might associate it with Perfume xD Thank you for the recommendation!

Wooo to Vicious! Can’t wait for the sequel 🙂

I am really anxious for the sequel. So excited to spend more time in that world, and a little scared that I won’t connect to it as enthusiastically as I did Vicious, if only because my own expectations are cruel.
